So when the UK’s leading
mobility aid manufacturer
asked us to design a light
powerful hoist we
started from the ground up.
We undertook a thorough
measurement and fitment
analysis, testing all suitable
estate/hatchback vehicles on
sale in the UK .
This defined the layout,
geometry and power required
for the new hoist.
Our new hoist design needed to flexible to fit
the range of vehicles so we incorporated a user
friendly telescopic articulating arm with a
unique safety release mechanism to prevent
accidental operation when loaded.
A large part of our challenge was to ensure the
company could manufacture and assemble
their new product in-house, using their
manufacturing expertise in cutting and welding.
Consequently all components, including the
latching mechanism are produced from either
stock profiles or laser profiled sheet, then
fabricated or bolted together.
Our robust design quickly established itself as a
market leader, and has been produced for over
15 years.
